TT ELD Review 2026: Pricing, Features & Problems

Illustrated title graphic reading TT ELD Review: Pricing, Features & Problems

TT ELD is a name you'll hear a lot at truck stops, especially among newer small carriers. It's sold on simple plans, a free device with a 12 month agreement and a feature list that covers IFTA and GPS tracking. On paper it's a solid budget pick.

There's a wrinkle, though. In July 2026, FMCSA revoked one of TT ELD's devices. That doesn't mean every TT ELD product is off the list, but it does mean you need to check exactly what you're buying. This review covers pricing, features, that revocation and the alternatives worth considering. All details were checked October 2026.

Overview

TT ELD Inc is based in Strongsville, Ohio. It sells an ELD service with an app for drivers and a fleet dashboard for the office. Hardware options include the PT30 device and cables for different trucks.

On the FMCSA registered list in October 2026, we found the "TT ELD Hours of Service" device, model TT 50, with ELD identifier TTELD5, listed with telematic transfer by web service and email.

Pricing

TT ELD publishes three plans.

PlanPriceTermHardware
Month to Month$89 a monthNo contract, cancel anytimeDevice options available
Contracted ELD$50 a month12 month agreementFree ELD device
Contracted ELD + Dashcam$75 a month12 month agreementFree ELD and dual facing dash cam

All three list an FMCSA registered ELD, hours of service logging, electronic DVIR, IFTA fuel tax reporting, real time GPS tracking, a driver app, a fleet dashboard, roadside inspection mode and support.

Hardware on its own

TT ELD's online store listed the PT30 ELD device at $135, though it showed as sold out when we checked. Cables were $15 for the OBD II 16 pin and 9 pin versions and $20 for an RP1226 cable for 2025 Volvo trucks.

What a year costs

On the 12 month plan, one truck costs $600 a year with the device included. Month to month, it's $1,068 a year, which is a steep premium for flexibility. If you know you'll stay a year, the contract plan is the obvious choice. If you don't, look at the no contract alternatives below first.

Billing Terms Worth Knowing

TT ELD's terms of service (effective January 3, 2026) say subscriptions are billed in advance each cycle and renew automatically unless you cancel before the next billing date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid cycle, and unused time isn't prorated unless a written agreement says so.

None of that is unusual, but it has practical effects:

  • Cancel a few days before your billing date, not on it.
  • Don't expect a partial refund if you sell the truck mid month.
  • Keep a written record of your cancellation request.

Features

HOS logging and DVIR

The core logbook covers the federal limits and records driving time from the engine connection. Electronic DVIR is included on every plan.

IFTA reporting

All plans include IFTA fuel tax reporting. That's a real plus, since many cheap ELDs keep IFTA for a higher tier.

GPS tracking

Real time GPS tracking is included too, so a small fleet owner can see where trucks are without paying for a separate tracker.

Dash cam bundle

The $75 plan adds a dual facing dash cam. For a 12 month deal, that's one of the more affordable published camera bundles.

Known Problems

The July 2026 revocation

On July 9, 2026, FMCSA removed 10 devices from the registered list for failing to meet the ELD technical requirements. One was the TT ELD 40, model PT40, identifier TTAH49, from TT ELD Inc. Carriers had until September 8, 2026 to replace it. From that date, a driver using a revoked device is treated as having no ELD and can be put out of service.

The same notice also revoked "Zee HOS Compliance," from a different provider, with a model number of TTELD101. That's a separate company's product, but the similar naming shows how easy it is to mix devices up.

What to do:

  1. Open your ELD app's settings and find the ELD identifier.
  2. Compare it to the FMCSA list. Our FMCSA registered ELD list shows revoked devices too.
  3. If it's TTAH49, you're on a revoked device and must switch.

Registration risk in general

Revocations have climbed sharply. FMCSA removed 12 devices in May 2026, 10 in July and 5 in August. Budget brands appear on these lists more often than the big platforms. That doesn't make TT ELD a bad buy, but it does mean you should check registration status a couple of times a year.

What drivers should check in the app

Heads up on the name: when we checked Google Play on October 23, 2026, TT ELD's driver app (package com.tteld.app) was listed as Five ELD Driver, with 4.5 stars from about 450 ratings. On the Apple App Store, Five ELD Driver showed 3.8 from about 96 ratings. If you're searching the store for "TT ELD," look for that name, and confirm with TT ELD support that it's the right app for your account before you install it.

Whatever plan you pick, spend five minutes in the driver app before your first load. Find inspection mode and make sure it shows the officer your current day plus the previous seven. Check that personal conveyance and yard moves are switched on if your carrier allows them. Confirm the app shows a malfunction warning when you unplug the device, so you know what it looks like. If something seems off, call support from the yard, not the shoulder.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Clear published pricing.
  • IFTA and GPS included on every plan.
  • Free device and a dash cam option on the 12 month plans.

Cons

  • One TT ELD device was revoked in July 2026, so model checks matter.
  • Month to month is expensive at $89.
  • No proration on cancellation.

Alternatives

ELDMonthlyContractIFTA
HOS247 ELD Plus$25 ($300 a year)NoneYes
Blue Ink BIT ELD$40 ($400 a year)NoneYes
Garmin eLog$0 after $249.99NoneNo

If you want IFTA without a contract, HOS247 and Blue Ink both cost less than TT ELD's month to month plan. See all our ELD reviews or the cheapest options in ELDs with no monthly fee.

Is TT ELD Right For Your Operation?

Let's run through three common situations.

New authority, one or two trucks

You need IFTA from day one and you're watching every dollar. TT ELD's 12 month plan at $50 covers IFTA and GPS, but HOS247 Plus does the same for $25 with no contract. Unless you specifically want TT ELD's dashboard or its camera bundle, the cheaper option makes more sense while you're getting established.

Small fleet that wants cameras

If you're running three to eight trucks and want dual facing footage for insurance, the $75 plan is worth a serious look. Over 12 months that's $900 per truck with the camera included. Compare it against Blue Ink's BIT Dashcam ELD at $50 a month, or $600 a year, and ask both for written terms on what happens to the camera at the end of the year.

Seasonal or uncertain work

If your trucks might sit for part of the year, the month to month plan's $89 is costly and the 12 month plan locks you in. A one time device like Garmin eLog, or a no contract plan you can pause, will usually cost less.

How To Leave TT ELD Cleanly

  1. Check your billing date and agreement end date in your account.
  2. Export your logs and IFTA data for at least the last six months.
  3. Install your new ELD before the old cycle ends, so there's no gap.
  4. Cancel in writing by email to the support address in the terms, and keep the reply.
  5. Return any hardware your agreement says you must return.

Verdict

TT ELD's 12 month plans are competitively priced, and bundling IFTA and GPS into every tier is genuinely useful. The revocation of the TT ELD 40 is a reason for care, not panic. Confirm your device is the registered TT 50 model, put your cancellation date in the calendar and you'll get decent value. If you'd rather not sign a 12 month deal, the no contract alternatives above are cheaper.
